Principal's Welcome

Welcome to the Deutsche Internationale Schule Pretoria!

We are delighted to welcome you to our website and invite you to explore the diversity and excellence in education and training at our school. As one of the oldest schools in the capital city of South Africa, the DSP has been nurturing learners for 125 years, building futures. Rooted in its original religious foundation, we highly value the orientation towards principles and values. At the school, South African, German, and international nations come together.

A highly motivated team of educators and teachers from Germany and South Africa prepares our children and young people for a global world and its challenges. We provide educational opportunities, starting from Crèche and Kindergarten through Primary School up to Secondary education. We promote the German language in an intercultural linguistic environment and build competencies. Our German and English branches are closely interconnected. In our educational paths, we prepare learners for the German "Kombiabitur" with a South African qualification and the South African National Senior Certificate with the German Sprachdiplom II. We take pride in our special support programs, enabling gifted children and youth from all walks of life to attend the DSP.

Our graduates form a large school community and a strong network in the fields of business and industry, arts, science, and politics worldwide. This fosters development.

Individual support for your child's special abilities and opportunities for personal growth are part of our mission and close to our hearts. Our educational programs, set in a school with spacious facilities and grounds, are ideal for the specific development in the areas of music, natural sciences, technology, and sports. Personal guidance and care are central to our pedagogical work.

Participation and co-determination, the development of independent and successful personalities, are crucial to us. Through numerous extracurricular activities and workshops, our students engage with companies, the business world, arts, and politics, shaping their personal profiles and expanding their skills. Our comprehensive study and career orientation build bridges to the future.

During your visit to our website, you will get to know DSP, our school community, and its diversity. Feel free to contact us; we look forward to hearing from you!

Warm regards,

Manuel Haß
